Montecalvo Aiming for Back-to-Back Wins at Watkins Glen

Thursday, June 20, 2024 – Highlands, NJ – Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is ready to get back to racing at the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International Raceway. Montecalvo and co-drivers Parker Thompson and Aaron Telitz took the win at Watkins Glen in 2023 and are hoping for a repeat of that victory in the six-hour endurance round on Sunday, June 23rd.

In 2023, Telitz qualified the No. 12 second in class, but the trio wasted no time making their way to the front of both the GTD and GTD Pro classes. They finished first overall in both GTD classes. The event was the first time Montecalvo won the six-hour endurance race.

“I love getting back to Watkins Glen for the third round of the Michelin Endurance Championship and the official start to a busy summer full of racing,” said Montecalvo.

“Our Lexus RC F GT3 performs well at Watkins Glen, as it’s a high-speed circuit with lots of fast corners, and the Lexus thrives on that type of track. We saw that last year when we took the overall win in the GTD classes. Since that time, the team and the car has only become stronger, so I think we should have a good shot at another win this weekend.”

“It will be great to have Aaron back with Parker and I for this race and for the remaining endurance rounds. We know it’s a long race, so our goals are to stay out of trouble, minimize our time in the pits, and be there at the end to fight for a win. I think we’re up to the challenge. We have a strong driver line-up backed by the best team in the business, so we’re looking forward to our first laps at the Glen on Friday and hoping to bring home the win Sunday afternoon.”

On track action for Montecalvo begins on Friday, June 21 and continues through the weekend. The green flag flies for the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of the Glen on Sunday, June 23 at 11:10 AM ET. You can watch Frankie race live with flag-to-flag coverage beginning at 11:00 AM ET on the Peacock App. USA Network will also broadcast the race from 11:00 AM ET until 2:00 PM ET.
